Cards Platform is entering a strong growth phase requiring both strong execution and forward planning to accommodate growth and navigate competing priorities. The VP Technology Control Reporting Lead will ensure we are in compliance with regulatory control reporting requirements and enhancing key measurements to allow for this growth. Key Accountabilities Ensure internal and external Control Forum materials are delivered on-time and accurately reflect the current state of the Technology Control environment for senior leadership Review and analyse performance of underperforming Key control metrics and gain ownership and remediation commitment as part of Return to Satisfactory plans Provide insight of operational control performance and risk/control related change delivery to ensure monitoring, maintenance and remediation of out of threshold metric performance is completed by control owners for Technology aligned Controls Act as a point of escalation for At Risk Issue delivery commitments, non-compliance and Risk Event root cause and remediation ownership identification Review of Major Technology Programs and 2019 Technology Control Roadmap Enhance and ensure up to date control data align to various technology organization and indviduals on an ongoing basis Complete timely updates for new, changes to existing Key Risk Indicator's and Control measures in all reporting Drive efficiency by reducing multiple reporting (single view of Cards Platform Control and Governance) with clear remit and accountability Engage with C-level executives to define and execute on Enterprise-wide reporting strategies. Solicit feedback from reporting stakeholders and influence the design of future reporting to align with Barclaycard' strategy. Develop and manage strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external departments to build, drive and optimize reporting to drive efficiency. Proactively anticipate customer needs, investigate underlying issues and create reporting solutions to address. Stakeholder Management and Leadership The role involves partnering with key leadership and key stakeholders across Cards Platform and dependent and supporting organizations: Facilitating the ongoing 'check and challenge' of data provided by Technology teams for presentation to governance forums to ensure an accurate assessment of state of Control Environment by Sr. Management. Ensuring there is clear ownership of required remediation activity identified through control reporting Strategically utilising controls including industry benchmarks to drive efficiency, automation and improve metric reporting Creating of papers for relevant committees as required Support Regulatory and Audit requests as required Initiating and progressing adhoc requests, development of adhoc decks (departmental, company, external views) to support insight and deep dive's to support control related decision making Decision-making and Problem Solving The role holder will manage, support and align aggregate business reporting requirements Responsible for interfacing with key functions to enable the production of control automation opportunities and clear understanding of roles Removing obstacles to success through effective relationship management and appropriate liaison with the relevant leadership team cohorts to ensure appropriate mechanisms/controls are in place to meet reporting submissions deadlines; that definitions are aligned (wherever possible) and that standardisation is achieved with other Barclaycard teams. Providing leadership level 'check and challenge' on data feeds and commentary against previous month and year to date MI and ensuring that the 'data' is always contextualised and relevant to strategy/scorecard priority across all Executive level submissions Person Specification Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: 3 years of Risk and Control Management in financial services industry Working knowledge of Tableau, Excel, and Powerpoint Working knowledge of US Regulations Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications: Strong analytical background and ability to translate data into insights to drive actionable remediation plans Experience of influencing a wide network of colleagues, many at very senior levels, without direct line management control to deliver objectives and action plans as a senior individual contributor Numerate and financially literate; able to understand and contribute to the business discussions Excellent written communications skills needed to supplement reporting commentary and wide range of deck production Good relationship and stakeholder management skills both across teams and upwards throughout organisations (particularly those that operate complex matrices) Highly organised and structured with creativity and problem solving ability allowing a wide variety of activities to remain on track at the same time Ability to thrive in a highly complex operating environment and with a huge variety of tasks and challenges Excellent attention to detail, thoroughness with an ability to make sound judgements and be comfortable to make suggestions to peers; leadership team and across operational teams Ability to inspire and lead people to be the best that they can be Strong and proven team player The VP Technology Control Reporting Lead will support the Head of Technology Controls & Governance within the Cards Platform by focusing on meeting all internal and Regulatory control reporting requirements and enhancing key measurements to stay ahead of control issues.
